On the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, we call our worship service a “service of remembrance.” The purpose of Memorial Day is to remember those members of our military who died in the line of duty. This is always one aspect of our Sunday morning time together.
In addition, we provide an opportunity for you to remember any of your loved ones (not just military members) who have passed away by ordering potted flowers. These will be labeled with their names and displayed on the platform for worship and are available for you to take after the service. The order forms will be in your Sunday bulletin beginning May 7th or available in the church office. Please turn in your order by Sunday, May 21.
There is also a time near the end of the service for anyone in the congregation to come forward and place carnations in a vase at the front of the sanctuary in honor of loved ones that have passed. These carnations are provided by our deacons free of charge.
